TROY
Troy is a monumental light art installation inspired by
the myth of the Trojan Horse.
Only this time the horse is not meant as a device to
enter the city but as a medium that secretly enters
your mind.
One time heralded as a new revolution that would
bring free knowledge and equality for everyone,
the internet as a medium has become blurred and
corrupted, and so has it’s message.
Equality now means that the photo of your cat can
have as much impact as a message from the
president and knowledge loses meaning when you
can simple disqualify it by labeling it #Fake.
In a world where likes and view-counts are more
important than content and craftsmanship, Troy
embodies the Trojan Horse that the internet has
become in all it’s magnificent splendor.
Has the medium become a Trojan horse instead
of the beautiful butterfly we were once promised,
or are we now just merely looking at it’s doll stage
and will it evolve further?
